Description
Becoming a Competitive Space Power
“Space is rapidly changing – space technology is evolving, and its importance for our prosperity and security grows by the day. The new UK Space Power Conference will be the first opportunity for the UK space enterprise, be it industry, academia, government, or military, to convene and discuss the future of UK operations in space, the criticality of responsible behaviours in space, and the opportunities the domain presents for prosperity and our way of life.”
Air Vice-Marshal Jamie Thompson CBE
Commander, UK Space Command
Be where the UK’s space future is being shaped — alongside the senior decision-makers, military leaders and industry partners defining the nation’s next era of space power.
Taking place on 23–24 September, the inaugural UK Space Power Conference 2026 is the only conference owned and delivered by UK Space Command, giving delegates, sponsors and exhibitors direct access to the organisations and individuals shaping Britain’s space ambitions.
This is not simply a place to hear policy updates — it is where strategic priorities, future capability needs and new technology opportunities will come into focus.
This new conference is led by UK Space Command in partnership with the Freeman Air & Space Institute and draws speakers from the National Armaments Director Group, UK military commands, UK Space Agency, and leading cross-government and industry partners.
With six keynote speakers over two days, core themes and sessions will cover topics such as
‘Space Strategy and Reform’, ‘Operations and International Collaboration’, ‘National Armaments Group Space Systems Portfolio’, ‘One Space’ and ‘Space and the City’.
Over two days, delegates will be offered a rare inside view of space activity across the Ministry of Defence and Government as a whole. You’ll hear first-hand updates on defence reform, current operations, international partnerships, and the new National Armaments Group Space Systems Portfolio — outlining how the UK will become a globally competitive space power, working hand-in-hand with industry. Expect exclusive insights into ‘One Space’ collaboration initiatives and new governance frameworks that are redefining how government works together in space.
Timed to ensure meaningful dialogue around the landmark space policy developments contained in the Strategic Defence Review, Defence Reform and Defence Investment Plan, this conference places you right at the centre of pivotal national decisions.
New for the UK Space Power Conference is a special session on the City of London’s reliance on resilient space-enabled infrastructure. It will examine how financial markets depend on satellite-based Positioning, Navigation and Timing services to timestamp trading, synchronise banking networks and support global communications. The session will assess how cyber-attacks, jamming or geopolitical disruption could threaten market stability, transaction integrity and economic resilience, and why space security is now vital to the UK’s financial system and national prosperity.
Keynote Speakers include:
- Luke Pollard MP, Minister of Defence Readiness and Industry
- Air Chief Marshal Sir Harv Smyth, Chief of the Air Staff, Royal Air Force
- Rupert Pearce, UK National Armaments Director, National Armaments Director Group
- Matt Collins, Executive Deputy National Security Adviser (Intelligence, Defence and Security)
UK Space Power Conference will showcase bold, innovative, and disruptive thinking from across the space sector while creating a unique environment for meaningful dialogue between government, industry, financial institutions and the investor community, international partners, and academia.
This isn’t just another space conference. It’s your opportunity to engage directly with the architects of UK space power — at an event only UK Space Command can deliver.
